Indian saints reacted sharply to Nepal's prime minister's statement on Lord Ram to be of Nepali origin. The saints have appealed to the Government of India to express their hostility to the Government of Nepal.
Jagatguru Peethadheeshwar Shankaracharya Raj Rajeshvarashram even compared Nepal's Prime Minister Oli to the owl on the statement that the owl does not see the sun. In the same way, Oli too does not see the existence of Lord Ram.
He said that Oli made such a statement to divert attention from the ongoing political instability in his country. Patanjali Yogpeeth General Secretary Acharya Balakrishna also said that Lord Ram cannot be tied within political boundaries. He said that the traditions of our past will not be changed by anyone saying anything.
Shankaracharya Swami Raj Rajeswarananda said that if the name of a place is Ayodhya elsewhere, it will not become the birthplace of Lord Rama. He said that if there is a place named Ayodhya in Thailand also, will it become the birthplace of Lord Ram ?
Nepal may be the in-laws of Lord Ram, as he was married to Sita, daughter of King Janak in Janakpur, Nepal. Shankaracharya said that the Prime Minister of Nepal's own political future is in crisis, so he is making such statements to divert attention from the political instability going on here.
