Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has released the world's cheapest RT-PCR based corona virus test kit developed by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi through video conference.

This kit has been approved by ICMR and DCGI. The kit is named Corrosure and is produced by Newtech Medical Devices based in Delhi-NCR. This kit will be available for use in authorized Corona testing laboratories and will significantly reduce the cost of Kovid 19 RT-PCR test.

The base price of this kit is 399 rupees and even after adding RNA isolation and laboratory charge to it, the testing done by it will be very low cost.

Launching this kit, the Union Minister congratulated all the researchers of IIT Delhi and said that during the Corona crisis, research institutes across the country have done extremely exemplary work. I want to say with great pride that the higher educational institutions and researchers of the country are going ahead in the fight against Corona.

He also said that the way research is being done in India, the message is being sent to the whole world that India is not far behind in the global fight against Corona.

IIT Delhi Director Prof. V Ramgopal Rao said on the occasion that we are extremely grateful to the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Health and ICMR for the cooperation in making and producing this kit.

Taking inspiration from this, we will continue research related to Corona further and help the country as well as the world to fight this epidemic.
