The Home Ministry has banned 40 websites related to 'Sikhs for Justice', an organization supporting Khalistani terrorists. The government says that through these websites this organization was trying to gain support.

On the suggestion of the Home Ministry, the Ministry of Information Technology issued an order relating this matter on Sunday. A day earlier, the Haryana Police has filed a case against the head of this pro-Khalistan organization Gurpatwant Singh Pannu on charges of sedition and separatism.

Pannu lives in the US and from there promotes separatism through telecasting and website. The Home Ministry said in the latest order that websites have been banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967. Pannu is a threat to the country's integrity and communal harmony. He was planning to hold an illegal referendum for Khalistan on July 4 and was promoting it through the website. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had expressed dissatisfaction over the ongoing action against this organization. The Punjab government had said that 116 WhatsApp groups associated with this organization have been banned and 16 FIRs have been registered.

Last year, the Ministry of Home Affairs banned it due to anti-national activities of the organization. The SFJ carried forward the Sikh referendum 2020 as part of its separatist agenda. The 'Sikh for Justice' organization openly supports Khalistan and for this challenges India's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Earlier on July 2, cases of treason and separatism were registered against some members of this organization.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannu is among nine people who were declared terrorists by the Central Government on Wednesday under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.(UAPA). The Ministry of Home Affairs has declared Gurpatwant Singh Pannu a terrorist on charges of actively campaigning for separatism against India and inciting Sikh youths to engage in terrorism.
