The Bombay High Court has issued a notice to Maharashtra Minister Vijay Vadettivar on the petition of a former Legislative Council member.

The petition alleged that the Congress leader did not disclose pending criminal cases against him while applying twice for a passport in Nagpur.

The Nagpur bench of the High Court issued notices to the state Home Department, Nagpur Police Commissioner and passport offices in Nagpur and Mumbai besides the minister on Friday.

Former MLC Mitesh Bangadia in his petition demanded that a case be registered against the minister in this regard and his passport should be confiscated.

Vadettivar, who represents Brahmapuri assembly constituency in Chandrapur district, is the Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation in the MVA government of the state.
