In the US presidential election,Democratic Party candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden has said that if he wins the election in November, strengthening ties with India will be his top priority. Biden raised funds on Wednesday.

In response to a question on India-US relations at an event organized online, India needs to be our partner in the region for our own safety. The event was organized by Alan Leventhal, Head and CEO of BK Capital Partners. At the event, the former Vice President said that India and America are natural partners.

On the question of India's importance for US national security, Biden said, "This strategic partnership is necessary and important for our security." Referring to his eight-year tenure as the Vice President, he said, "I am proud of the role played by our administration in bringing the US-India civil nuclear agreement about a decade ago, which is a major agreement."

Biden said, helping to open the doors of great progress in our relations and strengthening our strategic partnership with India was a high priority in the Obama-Biden administration and, if elected president, would still be a high priority. Targeting US President Donald Trump's methods of dealing with the global pandemic Corona virus, Biden said, Trump ignored the warning right from the start, refusing to prepare and failing to protect the country.
