The Delhi High Court on Monday summoned Delhi government's reply on a petition filed by Sir Gangaram Hospital for dismissal of the FIR against the hospital.

Justice C Hari Shankar while hearing the case through video conferencing issued notice to the Delhi government and directed the matter to be listed for further hearing on 11 August. The petition has requested a stay of the Centre's investigation and further proceedings as interim relief, which will be debated in the court on Tuesday.

Advocate Rohit Aggarwal, appearing on behalf of the hospital, said that he requested for cancellation of the case registered on June 5 at Rajendra Nagar police station under disregard of the order of the government official and the process initiated thereafter.

The petition also requested immediate cancellation of the Delhi government's June 3 order prohibiting RT-PCR screening of contacted people to suspected Covid-19 infectives of hospital. The 675-bed 'Sir Gangaram Hospital' has been declared a Covid-19 dedicated hospital by the Delhi government.
