Civil services examination to be held on 4 october

The 2020 Preliminary Examination of the Civil Service postponed due to Corona, will now be held on October 4. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced this on Friday. The Commission said that the interview of the candidates selected through last year's Civil Services Preliminary and Main Examination will begin from July 20.
This year the preliminary examination was to be held on 31 May, but it was postponed due to the nationwide lockdown imposed in view of Corona. The decision to declare a new date was taken in a meeting called by the Commission to review the current situation.
The commission said in a statement that, considering the opening of nationwide lockdown and progressive concessions announced by the central government and various states, the commission decided to release a new schedule of exams / recruitment examinations.
According to the revised examination calendar, the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2020 will be held on October 4. The main examination for 2020 will run for five days on January 8, 2021. The Commission said that in adverse circumstances, notification of examination or recruitment examinations, the date and duration of the conduction can be changed.
Interview of the remaining candidates of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2019 will start from July 20 and the candidate will be informed personally. The Commission said that the joint examination for NDA and NA examination(1) and NDA and NA examination(2) will be held on September 6, 2020.
The Civil Services Examination is conducted every year in three phases (Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Interview). The commission organizes it to select officers, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS) and for other services. Lakhs of candidates appear in this exam every year to be part of the country's prestigious civil service.
