On Thursday, 83 people died in different districts due to lightning in bihar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed grief over the death of 83 people in the state due to lightning. In addition, the dependents of the deceased have been directed to give an ex-gratia grant of Rs.4 lakh each. He said that he is with the affected families in this hour of disaster.

13 in Gopalganj, 5 in poorvi Champaran, 6 in Siwan, 5 in Darbhanga, 5 in Banka, 6 in Bhagalpur, 3 in Khagadia, 8 in Madhubani, 2 in Paschimi Champaran, 1 in Samastipur, 1 in Shivhar, 1 in Kishanganj , 2 in Saran, 2 in Jehanabad, 1 in Sitamarhi, 2 in Jamui, 8 in Nawada, 2 in Purnia, 2 in Supaul, 3 in Aurangabad, 2 in Buxar, 1 in Madhepura and 2 in Kaimur.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also mourned the death of 83 people due to lightning.
