Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Chief K. Sivan said that the Space Policy and Space Activities Bill is in the final stages. A few days ago, the government has decided to open up the space to the private sector.

A foreign policy for space and legislation for space activities has been in the works for some time now. Meanwhile, the government has allowed the private sector to participate in space activities.

Sivan, who is also taking charge as the Secretary of the Department of Space, was asked if the government is bringing the space law, he said, "Yes, we definitely have to do it too." Sivan said, 'There are two aspects. One is the Space Policy and the other is the Space Activities Bill. Both are in the final stages.'

The government had announced major reforms in India's space sector by allowing the private sector to participate in space activities such as rocket and satellite manufacturing last month. The ISRO chairman said that a system will be introduced for approval very soon so that these activities can be conducted without any hindrance.
