The Supreme Court commenced contempt proceedings against advocate and activist Prashant Bhushan for allegedly disparaging tweets towards the judiciary.

The apex court has also initiated contempt proceedings against Twitter India. Bhushan's alleged derogatory comments were aired from the Twitter handle itself. The matter is listed for hearing on Wednesday before a three-member bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra.

Prashant Bhushan has been continuously raising issues related to the judiciary and recently criticized the attitude of the apex court in the case of workers migrating from other states during the covid-19 epidemic.
