Only 3 educational institutions of India ranked in top 200 in the QS World Ranking.

Only three educational institutions of India have managed to rank in top 200 in the QS World Rankings. While,No institution has made it to the top 100 in this ranking released on Wednesday. Those in the top 200 include Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Indian Institute of Science (IISC) Bangalore and IIT Delhi. There are 21 Indian institutions in the top 1000. America's Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ranks first in the world.

IIT Bombay ranked first among Indian institutions but dropped 20 places in the world rankings from last year. IIT Bombay was ranked 152 in the 2020 rankings, while the institute rose to 172nd in the rankings released on Wednesday for 2021.

IISC Bangalore has moved up one place and IIT Delhi has moved down 11 places. IISC Bangalore is ranked 185 in the 2021 rankings and IIT Delhi is ranked 193. Similarly, IIT Madras is ranked 275th, IIT Kharagpur 314th, IIT Kanpur 350th, IIT Roorkee 383rd and IIT Guwahati 470th.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has congratulated all the institutions that have ranked in the QS rankings. He said that you have made us proud. Nishank tweeted that the top 1000 institutions, we have made 21 institutions in India in the world ranking. IIT Bombay, IISc Bangalore and IIT Delhi have ranked in the top 200 institutes.
