The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shri Nitin Gadkari has strongly contradicted the news released in a section of the media, citing the possibility of a reduction in the MSP citing them falsely.

Shri Gadkari said that such reports are not only false but also malicious. Making a statement in this regard, Mr. Gadkari said that he has always been supportive and supportive of farmers looking for various ways and means of increasing their income through alternative uses of crops like rice / rice, wheat, sugarcane. He even claimed that when the increase in MSP was announced, he was present on the occasion, so there was no question of him favoring reduction in MSP.

He said that providing better income to the farmers has always been the priority of the Government of India and it is in this spirit that the MSP has been increased. He emphasised the need to explore possibilities of changing the pattern of crops to provide better prices to the farmers.

For example, there are better prospects of growing edible oilseeds, as India spends around Rs 90,000 crore on their imports. Similarly, production of ethanol from rice / paddy / wheat / maize will not only give them better profits, but will also help in saving on import bill. Shri Gadkari emphasised that in addition, biofuels are also more environmentally friendly.
