Malayalam films director Sachidanandan dies at the age of 48

Malayalam film director and screenwriter K.R.Sachidanandan died in a private hospital in Thrissur. He was 48 years old. His last film 'Ayyappanum Koshiyam' was released just before the corona outbreak and was a massive hit.

Media reports said that popularly known as Saichi, the director was admitted to Jubilee Mission Hospital on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack and had been on the life support system ever since.

He said that Sachidanandan died on Thursday night. Prithviraj and Biju Menon played the lead roles in Ayyappanum koshiyam.

His first directorial film 'Anarkali' was released in 2015. Sachchidanandan, a criminal lawyer by profession, entered the film world as a screenwriter with Setunath in 2007 for the film 'Chocolate'. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in his condolence message that the death of the director is a loss for the Malayalam film world.
